Emily Farish is a San Francisco based artist who creates charcoal drawings that examine the fleeting beauty of botanical forms. Working directly from observation, she selects flowers and branches not for their perfection but for their individuality. Each specimen is suspended to the wall of her studio with tape or string, and the act of drawing records the tension between nature and human intervention. Through the rich, tactile language of charcoal on fine French paper, Farish’s work invites a deeper contemplation of impermanence, resilience, and unexpected beauty found in what is often overlooked.
